New code

To create a new code, we must first verify if the code exists.

1. Head to Constants > Articles > Article information > Article codes

2. Click on a product description (any lines that are filled, not the column header)

3. In the search box, put the description of the product you're looking for (one word at the time) we will use gerbera or straw for gerbera straw.

4. If the code doesn't exist, we can proceed by adding a code. To do that we need to first find what code we can use.

5. If you go down to Constants > Articles > Productgroup information > Product groups, you can see which groups exist. For gerbera straws we can use either D006 (Flower Care) and D011 (Floral Accessories)

6. Now we can go back to Article codes to see which codes are available. Click on an article number that exists and fill the selected group in the search box (+enter)

7. We can see in the example the codes that exist D006302 and D006402, We can use the next available or start a new series (ex D006502). I prefer using the next available D006403

8.Click plus and start filling information (keep information as general as possible, don't put sizes, colors or else in the article code, this is used later for the description).

9. Fill the product group with the one selected in step 5, in our case D006.

10. You need to find the article group that works with your article, these are based on the characteristics used for your product. By clicking on the bottom facing arrow. So Soil would use Volume (as 4L, 20L) for sizes of product. In our case we want something that uses size, like Water Tubes (81021004). You can verify the assigned characteristics by clicking on the right facing arrow and going in the sorting tab. (see picture)

11. With that information filled in, you can now save the new code.
